Last year, I went on a two-month road trip to Australia with my friend Marie Beghin.
During this adventure we were able to see beautiful landscapes, typical animals, meet friendly people, and discover the benefits of independence.
First of all, we stayed five days in Japan to discover the local culture.
When we arrived in Australia, in Brisbane, we had no fixed idea of what we were going to see in that country, we left without organizing our trip.
We stayed for a week in a youth hostel where we met some lovely people, whom we still know today.
We then went to Gold Coast, which we had been described as the lively and festive city on the East Coast. That fled our disappointment when we just found cold, wind and old people there. Yes, we travelled in July-August, which is the winter in Australia, so not the festival season.
After three days in Gold Coast, we were in Byron Bay, where we stayed for two weeks. Byron Bay is a beautiful city, with lots of entertainment. We were in a bar surrounded by Croatian when the French won the 2018 World Cup, a memorable moment for us.
After a month we met a man named Gareth, he worked for a travel agency and organized a real Road Trip for us!
So, we rented a van, they noticed us full of destinations to visit, less tourist places, in small towns, waterfalls or places to see kangaroos.
During this month, we had the opportunity to have wonderful experiences. Indeed, we jumped in parachute, scuba-diving, saw magnificent waterfalls, lived on a catamaran for three days, lived on an island for 5 days, swam in the coral reef, saw magnificent sunrises, drive on the beach by the water with a jeep…
It was an incredible experience to live, and I encourage you to live it one day.
